I really wanted to to do a tutorial using pinks for those with warm undertones. I have warm undertones and I find it very difficult to wear pink shades, so this is my take on how to make pink wearable for those with warm undertones. This look coincidentally is also a very summer trend look. The eyes are very neutral and "beachy" while the lips fit the bright colored lips that were seen on the runway this Spring! My best advice for picking the perfect pink lipstick is to look for one with yellow or gold undertones because it works best with warm skin tones. The shade I chose is a limited edition shade from Mac called Something New, however in the video I offer several alternative shades in case you didn't get your hands on Something New when it was released this past January with the Stylishly Yours Collection. I hope this is helpful and you all enjoy it!

Yesterday I was in the mood to use one of my new Bobbi Brown Metallic Cream Eyeshadows. I decided to use Chrome Patina which is a shimmery brown with blue undertones. I first applied all my eye makeup as usual and then I applied Bobbi Brown's Chrome Patina on top of the lid of my eye for this effect. I think it looks really cool and is a lot easier to work with than a Mac glitter with a super similar effect. I decided to go for soft cheeks and lips to compliment the semi-smokey bold eye. This is what I came up with. Enjoy!

I went to my school's annual Barrister's Ball this last Friday. This was my first Barrister's Ball and sadly my last. It was held at my city's very large aquarium which made for a lovely evening dancing among sharks, beluga whales and sting rays! Despite the famous nautical backdrop, there was no theme to the festivity so I decided to re-wear my blue dress from the Masquerade Ball I attended a few months ago. Instead of applying the same deep blue smokey eye I featured in my "Masquerade Makeup" Tutorial, I decided to go with something a bit more fun. I opted for an inspired look by Kim Kardashian. I wanted my makeup to be fun and playful since I planned on curling my hair into beachy spirals. I added a bit of purple to the eye to pull in the color of my navy dress. Below are photos of my completed look and the inspiration photo. I hope you all enjoy!

Ok, this is the most unconventional video I have made as of yet. The video posted below is not a makeup tutorial, but rather a book review, haul (I got an iPad 2), and makeup Face of the Day. I was bored/sick this last weekend and happened to lay in bed read the entire Hunger Games Trilogy. This makeup is inspired by Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old Hunger Games participant. I was inspired by a description of Katniess's makeup in the second book entitled Catching Fire. (Don't worry I won't give anything away to spoil the book for anyone)! At point during the second book, Katniss meets with her stylist named Cinna who dresses her and puts makeup on her for a public event. Katniss states with regard to her makeup: "But now my face is almost obscured by the dramatic highlights and dark shadows. High arching eyebrows, sharp cheek bones, smoldering eyes, deep purple lips."
This is my take her on her makeup pursuant to that description. Katniss is described in the book as a thin girl with dark brown hair, gray eyes and tan skin. In the book she often wears her hair back in a braid. I tried to re-create her look as close as possible. If you're looking for a great trilogy to read, then check out the Hunger Games! It's absolutely fantastic! (It will be made into a movie and released in May of 2012!) If you are interested in the plot of the trilogy, check out my video. Enjoy!

Last night I went out with my friend shopping and for dinner. I decided to do my makeup really dramatic and fun. I try to embrace the times when I can really play up my makeup. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to film a tutorial, but I wanted to still share my creation. I added the hat last minute to my look because I thought it just kept the entire look playful. The fingernail polish was done a little haphazard last minute, so I thought it was kind of funny that some of my nails were painted with Zoya's Bekka and others were painted with Rescue Beauty Lounge's Iconoclast. I decided to take a photo before I'd completed the "clean up" stage of my manicure - as you can see. haha. Enjoy!

I have been dying to use my Mac Indigo Pink Lip Glass in a tutorial and I have finally gotten the opportunity. I decided to go for a deep smokey brown-gray eye. I wanted my eyes to be smokey, but wearable, so I kept the eyeliner simple and less harsh. I also wanted the lips to really shine and be the focal point of this look. I hope I achieved my goal! Enjoy!

This is an edgy smokey look inspired by the makeup I have been seeing in a lot of magazines from Fashion Week. I've seen the red lip as a huge trend as well as a love of smokey, smudgy eyes. I decided instead of doing a full on red lip, I would keep the lips more wearable and trendy and go with a smudged out red lip. I hope you all enjoy!

Here is the gold and blue makeup look from the Mac Jeanius Collection Overview video. I opted for a blue and gold look which is coincidentally the same colors as my high school colors. Goooo Panthers!!! :) I wanted to do a blue look without making the eye completely blue. I have always thought pairing golds with blue can look really nice on warmer skin tones. I also opted for a peachy cheek with a warm nude lip to finish off the look. I hope you all enjoy!

What kind of a person would I be if I said I loved bright colors but I never showed you any of my favorite bright colors? Well, I hope I have achieved my goal with this look. I was inspired by all of my favorite bright colors in my collection. I know this isn't a particularly wearable look, however I thought it was really fun. I used an array of colors from orange to turquoise to purple to pink. I really wanted to hit the 80's on the head with my lipstick and blush while still bringing a bit of mystery and fun to the eyes. I hope you all enjoy! Happy Sunday!
I have been requests for more neutral looks. This is a neural look using Mac Pigments. I wanted to make the skin look soft and glowing, but still natural. I decided against using a highlight because I thought it would make the skin look too shiny. Instead I really played up my skin with Nars Sheer Glow and then I applied a soft cheek color with a natural lips to compliment my brown neutral eye. I think the complete look is very soft, neutral and would compliment a wide variety of skin tones. I highly recommend Mac Naked Pigment if you do not already own it. It's amazing! You will put it on your eyes and say..."WOW, why haven't I owned this yet?" Yeah, it's that amazing! Enjoy!
