A Red Lipstick Overview with Swatches

I love red lipstick. It's almost frightening how many shades I own that are extremely similar. I decided to do a quick video swatching all my favorite reds with photos to help those of you who may be trying to pick out which red is best for you. I started with my orangey-reds and ended with my deep brown reds. Enjoy!

  1. Great post! You look fab in red lipstick. I always wanted to try red, but haven't had the heart to yet. The brownish/red ones look a little more subtle, so I may give it a whirl :)

  2. Thank you!!! I really love my red lipsticks! I definitely recommend a brownish-red lipstick if you are new to reds or something like the Viva Glam Cyndi if you like pinks. I also think a berry red is a good start too. Sometimes a stark red can be kind of intimidating...but I am positive you could pull it off!!!! Go for it, girl!

  3. If you could choose only 3 of these red lipsticks, which one would you choose and why?

  4. I really like these two: russian red and ruby woo, But which is better on a brunette girl, with yellow undertone skin (olive skinned)?

  5. Russian Red - its a bluer red and will make yellow undertoned skin look less yellow and will even make your teeth look whiter. Ruby woo is slightly pinker in my opinion. I like Russian Red much more and wear it more frequently. :)
