Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation - Look Out Mineral Powders!!!

Chanel's Vitalumiere's Aqua Foundation is Simply Fabulous!!!

I am not a liquid foundation fan, but Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua has be considering other options.  It is very light weight, oil free.  I have found that a little goes a long way and the color match for me is phenomenal  - one of the best if not the best I've seen!  I've been wearing this foundation for a week now and so I've had a full week or work make up as well as, outdoor activity and the foundation wears well throughout the day.  I have noticed a slight settling or drying out throughout the day.  It's not a show stopper by any means and it could be due to the fact that I have very dry skin and it is oil free.

AND...the foundation does not transfer onto paperwork via fingertips as has happened to me on more than one occasion with other liquid foundations.  Don't know about you, but I find this really embarrassing...let's face it, we all want to be beautiful but want everyone to think it's natural :)

I would consider this foundation for my standard foundation which is screaming volumes, because, again, I am not a liquid foundation fan at all.  I have tried them all and I always seem to go back to mineral powders, but I could see myself wearing Vitalumiere.

Vitalumiere Aqua comes in two undertones:  pink and yellow.  The yellow is yellow beige tones and the pink is pink-beige tones.  The foundation comes in 9 foundation tones total (see below).  I was very surprised and disappointed that Chanel did not make tones for those with darker skin tones.  They seem to have fallen short here.

I especially like the light weight, plastic bottle it comes in.  It has a dropper top which has to be much more conducive to fighting potential bacteria that could occur with the more traditional bottles.  Chanel recommends shaking the product before using as one would any liquid foundation.

I also like the fact that the foundation is oil free and has SPF15.

LORAC's Time To Shine Eye Shadow Palette

Lorac's Time to Shine Eye Shadow Palette and Multiplex 3D Mascara

So, I'm very much a Lorac fan and think they make some of the best quality eye shadows that I've tried until now.  I really thought that the Time to Shine Palette and the Multiplex 3D Lashes Mascara (travel size) was a steal for $28!!!  Now you gotta remember, I have had nothing but great luck with their shadows so I was pumped about this palette.

There were several things that drew me to this palette:  1) it was a Lorac product, 2) it was light weight (so many palettes are so heavy) and I travel a lot so this is always a plus, 3) it has a fairly nice mirror (another plus for the traveller), 4) it contained 10 fabulous colors, from pastels to darker shades, 5) I got a bonus mini mascara!

Now I obviously didn't purchase this palette for the mascara, but I gotta tell you....its really good!!!

The mascara is a black multiplex 3D lash mini mascara, has a nice curved brush and it definitely lengthens the lashes and separates them quite well.  I did notice a little desire to clump, but the mascara consistency is thin enough that if it tries to clump, you can easily blot the eye lash and the clump melts.  What I noticed most was how quickly my lashes lengthened and it took very little mascara.  I was impressed with the mascara!

Now onto the palette...I didn't get to swatch it in the store as they were all boxed up and I seldom ever purchase items without being able to play with them at the store first :)  But, again, this was a Lorac product and I have had nothing but good luck with Lorac eyeshadows so I thought it was a safe bet.  Well, had I been able to swatch the shadows in the store before purchasing the palette, I probably would not have bought it.  Why?  The pigmentation just isn't what it should be.  With this being said....when applying the shades, what I found was they actually went on very pretty...light, shimmery, but not real pigmented. BUT they have very nice shimmer and almost created a kinda "shadow gloss" on the eye (yes "shadow gloss" is "my" new made up terminology) :)  This is just the best way I can describe it.

Not being totally sold on this shadow, I decided to try it wet and SHAZAM!!! That was the key!  When applied with a wet brush the pigment is drawn out and the colors go on much more pigmented but still give that shimmery glow.  At last, Lorac hadn't totally disappointed me.

Would I buy this again?  Probably not, BUT now that I learned the "wet brush trick" and considering the price for 10 eye shadows and a mini sized mascara....ummm....maybe I would.  This would really depend on my budget.  If price wasn't really a major constraint, I'd say no, if it was, I'd still consider it because you really do get a lot of product for your money.

Chanel's Blush Duo Tweed Effect - LOVING IT!!!

Chanel's Blush Duo Tweed Effect - It simply makes me feel GORGEOUS!!!

I gotta admit, I didn't go into the store looking to purchase Chanel's Blush Duo Effect in Tweed Rose 30, BUT when the employee working there applied it on my face, I said, "I GOTTA GET IT!!!"  :)

AND...now you know why I always "pretend" that I got it all under control and I know "exactly" what I'm doing while at the Chanel make up counter...they up sell me every time Who can pass up their gorgeous shades, silky textures and oh the sleek, shiny, black packaging. I feel rich just holding the compact!!!  :)

BUT it's all good because I'm really enjoying it...

The blush has a rose with peach tweed weave and soft shimmer...it's absolutely a beautiful shade!  Its a very light powder that goes on with a slight shimmer.  The nice thing about the blush is that you can build up the color so you can go as light as you want and yet add more to deepen the shade.  The blush gives me a peachy/pink tone; a little more pink than peach.  I really like the shade, especially for spring/summer.  It makes eager for spring/summer!!!

L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick

There's been a lot of hype about the new L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick especially given Gwen Stefani's endorsement/advertisement of the product.  Gwen Stefani looks absolutely radiant in her add sporting this lipstick!  She has deep pigmented lipstick loaded with shine!!!  Not sure which lipstick she was wearing because I didn't really find all that pigmentation nor shine in L'Oreal's Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick.  While I don't think the product is bad, I just don't think it does what it advertises and I'm a little tired of buying product that claims to do something it really doesn't do.

I purchased the lipsticks in three colors:  714, Blazing Sangria, 421 Charismatic Coral and 138 Forever Fuschia.  I gotta tell you, the lipstick went on very creamy and felt wonderful on initial application.  I was a little disappointed in the pigmentation.  I didn't feel it was as true to its packaging as it could have been.  What was disappointing to me was that after about 30-45 minutes of wearing the lipstick, I could feel it get substantially drier on my lips and almost sticky when I pressed my lips together.  It had lost the moist, creamy feel that it had when initially applying.

I did find the product stayed on quite a bit longer than a typical lipstick, but not the 10 hours it advertises.  I got about 5 hours out of it and its important to note, this was not 5 hours of a creamy, shine.  While the product stayed on for 5 hours, it did lose some of it's pigmentation and definitely list it's shine and creamy feel.

Not a Liquid??? I Can't Believe It!!!! Sonia Kashuk's Gel Liner!

Sonia Kashuk's Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner is pretty darn good!  I don't wear a lot of liquid eye liners, but this one is designed to look like a liquid eyeliner but is actually a gel.  The product is very easy to apply, goes on smoothly and allows you to create very definitive lines.

The eye liner could be a deeper black.  While it is definitely black, it is not as black as some of the black eyeliners on the market.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick - Burst of Color and Dryness!!!

I must say, when I first started applying Revlon's Colorburst lipstick, I was feeling pretty good about it. I thought it might be comparable to MAC's Amplified Cream.  It went on smooth and creamy and simply felt great on my lips.  However, as time went on and I wore it, it just kinda felt dry on my lips and left them feeling really dry after removing the lipstick.  You would definitely need to exfoliate well before wearing this one.  So, no, I'd have to say.."not a fan!"
