Mac Jeanius Collection Overview with Swatches and Mac Sheen Supreme Lipsticks Overview with Swatches

Finally! My Mac Jeanius Collection items and Mac Sheen Supreme Lipsticks arrived! I was so excited to share these items with you! I purchased two of the eyeshadows (each $19.50) and a lip glass ($14.50) from the Mac Jeanius Collection. I was not very excited by any of the lipsticks or the blush. I went to the store and swatched both the Overdyed Blush and Pink Cult Blush and found them both to just be "ehhh". I think I picked the best of the bunch!

I also managed to get some of the Sheen Supreme Lipsticks ($14.50)! These lipsticks are suppose to replace the Mac Slimshines, which were one of my favorite lipsticks Mac ever made! I am so impressed with the Mac Sheen Supremes! They are creamy, moisturizing and so pretty on the lips! I love their texture and formula and I think Mac has really improved since the Slimshines. Check out the video I posted below for more information on possible dupes and all my thoughts on the new products I purchased! Enjoy!

Mac Wonder Woman Collection Overview with Swatches

It's here! My package finally came in from Mac with my Wonder Woman products!!! Yay!!! Not even a Blizzard could stop Wonder Woman!!! I purchased several of the items and swatched all of them without a primer. I hope these products will help when you all go to purchase your items either online or in store on February 10th (the release date in the U.S.)

It's important to note that the Wonder Woman Collection is "oversized" - meaning each of the products is larger than normal. The Wonder Woman blushes ($24.00 USD) are almost double the size of regular Mac blushes ($19.50 USD! ALSO, the WONDER WOMAN LIP GLASSES ($20.00 USD) are more than double the size of a normal Mac lip glass ($14.50 USD)! Unfortunately the lipsticks aren't any larger in size and $1.00 more expensive. Regular Mac lipsticks are $14.50, while Wonder Woman lipsticks are $15.50 due to licensing.

As you will see in the video, the product comparison sizes is crazy, the colors of the products are amazing and the packaging is incredible! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Enjoy!

Overview of Laura Mercier's Silk Road Spring Collection with Swatches

These are the overview swatches and product photos of the Laura Mercier Silk Road Cheek and Eye Palette for Spring 2011. The colors are beautiful and they swatch so vibrantly and vividly on the skin. All the eyeshadows included in the palette are shimmery or include glitter, so this palette is not for the matte eyeshadow lover. However, I find all these shades extremely versatile and I can imagine they would work well on mature or youthful skin. I think this palette would also work well for a wide range of skin tones because of the versatility of the colors. I love that Laura Mercier has introduced a fresh sparkly purple in the palette, as well as included a wearable and universal taupe eyeshadow.

The two larger shades are a blush and highlighting powder. The blush is a vibrant coral pink with a slight gold shimmer, while the highlight is a light pink with gold shimmer. I find Palace Pink, the highlight, to be similar in texture to Nars Albatross, however it's pink shade, allows it to work quite well on those with more beige and pink undertones in their skin. I think it's a truly versatile highlighting powder, however for those with truly dark complexions, I would worry it could come off a little ashy. I also give warning to the extremely fair complected individuals embarking on Persian Rose, the blush included in the palette. Persian Rose although a beautiful pinky coral, needs to be applied with a light hand due to its heavy pigmentation and the bright shade.

When I first opened this palette I was most worried about the light purple shade called Lavender Silk, however I find that it wears quite well on my skin and adds a soft shimmery glow to light-medium complected individuals with peachy-yellow undertones. The entire palette retails for $48.00.

I also purchased one of the lip pluming glosses which sadly cost around $30.00. Although I love the shade, which is a pinky coral with gold shimmer struck through it, I dislike the price a lot. I find it hard to swallow that a lip gloss could cost $30.00. Despite the shocking price tag, I purchased the lip gloss, which is of really high quality. The consistency is not sticky and is quite moisturizing. Additionally, the gloss is meant to plump the lips, so it has a hint of mint mixed in its citrus-orange smell. I like the gloss especially because it does not require a lipstick underneath, but I wish it would have been more around $20 bucks versus $30.

Overview and Swatches - Sephora's Hello Kitty Collection Part II

This is Part II of the Sephora's Hello Kitty Collection. To view Part I, click here.

As you can see, I had ordered Hello Kitty Apple Cheeks in Blushing and Pink Grapefruit. I also ordered, Minty and Bubble Gum Polishes. The Apple Cheeks in Blushing is much more coral and lighter in shade and tone than the Apple Cheeks in Charmmy. Charmmy is much more brown based and a deeper, more rich shade than Blushing. Pink Grapefruit Sweet Gloss is more pinky and light than Peachy Sweet Gloss. Both sweet glosses apply rather sheer, which is a little disappointing, because I'd hoped there would be a noticeable difference between the two on the lips. Both shades are very wearable and moisturizing and neither is sticky.

The nail polishes applied very differently. I had some trouble getting Minty to apply opaque. Unlike it's sister polish, Blueberry which applied opaque with just one coat, Minty required three coats to apply evenly and opaquely on the nails. I was kind of disappointed how streaky it initially applied. I also was disappointed with my application of the products, so please excuse the sloppiness.

Bubble Gum applied more opaque than Minty and Banana Cream. It was the second most opaque, with Blueberry as the most opaque of all the nail polishes. Bubble Gum is quite a light pink, more like chewed bubble gum than fresh bubble gum. Ewww. hahaha.

I used OPI's nail envy as a base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat. Enjoy!

Sephora's Hello Kitty Collection Overview with Swatches: Part I

I went to Sephora and received a sneak peak at the Hello Kitty Collection by Sephora out this week. I had already ordered some items and wanted to see the full collection. One of the Sephora employees was nice enough to bring out the collection for me to view - even though it's not suppose to be officially released in stores until next week. Here are the items I purchased in store. The items I ordered this week will be included in part II of my Hello Kitty Collection Overview. Enjoy!
