Two Faced's The Bronzed and the Beautiful...French Riviera Edition

Left to Right:  Primer, Chocolate Soleil, Powdered Sun, Snow Bunny, Sun Bunny

Two Faced's The Bronzed and the Beautiful, French Riviera Edition is pretty good!!!  I like the fact that the kit provides a couple of different shades of bronzers to allow for slightly different looks. Snow Bunny is much more brown than the other tones and reminds me a lot of Benefit's Hoola bronzer (a cool toned bronzer) and other bronzers have more of a red tone. I really like this kit because it contains various different bronzers that can give slightly different effects, depending upon what you are looking for.

I also like the fact that it has a highlighter included.  I think this just helps enhance the bronzer effect.

This bronzer kit complements warm and cool tones nicely. I would even suggest applying the cooler toned bronzer to your skin if you have warm skin when you're trying to pull out cool tones in your skin tone. I'm not suggesting if you are a warm tone, you move to the complete cool tones and vice versa, but you can mix the tones a bit allowing yourself to cross the line a bit :)

Ok, I have used this product for the past week and so now I feel I can honestly assess it.

The Bronzed and the Beautiful, French Riviera Edition kit contains:
  • Deluxe Primed and Poreless SPF 20 Bronze Tint Skin Smoothing Face Primer (.17oz)
  • Sun Bunny (classic bronze),
  • Chocolate Solei (matte bronze) - Perfecting Bronze
  • Powdered Sun (gold) - Highlight
  • Snow Bunny (mocha/pink) - Skin Perfecting Winter Bronzer
  • Tips and Tricks Lesson Cards

Face of the Day - Pretty and Easy Work Appropriate Makeup

I am a big fan of soft, yet wearable work makeup. Today I had a presentation at school, which to me screams "work appropriate makeup". I decided to keep it simple, yet pretty. I used a lot of neutrals and then added a bit of blue and gray to make the look a little bit more bold. Instead of opting for black eyeliner, I decided gray was a lot less harsh and went really well with my "pop of color" blue. I wanted to keep my skin natural, but pretty. I added just bronzer and a bit of color to the cheeks. For lips, I wanted just the tiniest bit of color. I opted for a pretty peachy-coral lip gloss. I hope you all enjoy!

Face of the Day - Muted Colorful Eyes with Bright Lips

I wanted to do a look incorporating muted turquoise greens, grays and purples, however I didn't want the look to look clownish. I decided on this look because I thought the lips would bring some brightness while the eyes remained subtle and muted enough to be wearable. The trick to keeping your eyes simple is to use brown eyeliner instead of black eyeliner. It really helps to keep the eyes soft wand pretty. I hope you all enjoy!

I used the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette and the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette in combination with the Mac Valiant Palette to create this look. Feel free to substitute your own colors in place of the colors I used. I hope this is helpful!

Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette Might Help You Find Prince Charming!

So, this week is ending and it's time to review the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette for you all. The chart says it best, but I was pretty disappointed with the application and lasting power of the shimmer shades: honeymoon, ever after, and cut the cake. Although these shades swatched like a dream, they were not creamy enough and tended to flake away when applied on the eye when applied without a base. I would highly recommend looking at investing in a good cream base for applying the shimmer shades.

As for the other shades, I thought they were absolutely lovely, creamy and easy to blend. I am pretty sad that three of the nine shades were so disappointing, since one of the reasons I loved the palette was the diversity of finishes. I really love the packaging of this palette, but I wish it had a mirror. I am the type would find a palette of this size nice to travel with, but I am quite disappointed that this palette's portability is hindered by it's lack of a mirror.

I think the cards included in the palette are helpful, especially for those new to makeup or who get "stuck in a rut" with their makeup. However, I personally would have sacrificed the cards for a mirror. Maybe I'm just hung up on the mirror, but I think it's important! hahaha.

I hope you will find this helpful!!! Enjoy!

Fun Gold and Purple Intense Eyes with Ruby Lips

This is an intense gold and purple eye look with a really nice ruby lip. I was really inspired by the cat eye look lately and I wanted to capitalize on that inspiration. I wanted this look to be really gold, but also include some intense deepness. I also wanted to compliment the bold eye with a more bold wearable lip. I decided on Laura Mercier's Ruby Glaze lip plumper. Since I didn't get a chance to use it with the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette, I decided to use it in this tutorial. Enjoy!

Valentines Day with a Bold Kissable Pink Pout!

I am usually not a big fan of Valentines Day and it's not because of the traditional reasons. I am not a huge fan because I always over-indulge in Dove's chocolate shaped hearts and Conversation Hearts! They are just so yummy and really only available around this time of year! hahaha. On the plus side, for some Valentines Day is extremely romantic. Every Valentines Day I have ever had has never really lived up to the hype - so sorry, boyfriends, I have to admit...your attempt at romantic fell short when you didn't save me from a sinking ship like Leonard DiCaprio in Titanic. Gosh, movies ruin everything! hahaha.

Anyway, this look was inspired by Valentines Day and the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette which is sold at Sephora and Ulta and retails for $35.00. I love this palette. It makes my heart swell and makes me wonder what romantic events are in store for me this Valentines Day...will I finally get saved from a sinking ship? I hope not. It's cold where I live and I can only imagine how frigid the water is. Unlike Kate Winslet, I can't promise I won't let go...I'm far from a member of the Polar Bear Club. :-/
