Smokey Purples with Ruby Lips - Mac Packed to Go Six Cool Smokey Shades

At first when I sat down to to do this look, I anticipated using Mac's Satin Taupe from the Mac Six Cool Smokey Eye Palette, however I just began playing with the purples. I have a strange relationship with the color purple and as a result, I was drawn to it. I decided to do another purple smokey eye, this one also smokey, but with a warmer lip and cheek. I really like this look. I think it's very sultry and sexy without being over the top. I would say this is more of a nighttime look, however I did this look and then went to take an exam in Criminal Procedure. haha. So, I guess it's also a daytime look as well. I hope you all enjoy!

Sephora's Eye Make Up Removing Pads are Pretty Awesome

Sephora's Eye Make Up Removing Pads

I'm always looking for that next best make up remover pad that is quick, not messy and easy to travel with. I travel quite a bit for my job, so as many of you have read in many of my reviews, product that is easy to travel with is very important to me and I always voice this aspect when I'm doing just about every product review I do.

I don't like products that I have to worry will break when I travel with them.  Eye make up removing pads or some equivalent are pretty much a requirement for the frequent traveller.  They are easy to transport, can be taken on a plane and great for those overnight plane flights out of country.

I was in Sephora purchasing some product and the sales person told me that the Sephora Make Up Removing pads were good, so I thought I'd try them.

Product Details:
There are 30 pads to the container at a price of $9 which is kinda steep in my opinion.
The pads are pre-moistened (convenient) and are for removing your make up while strengthening and moisturizing your lashes.

These are actually advertised that they are "ideal for travel".  The product advertisement reads that they are a "formula that includes HydroSenn+, a natural ingredient proven to deliver immediate and long lasting hydration that is suppose to be more effective than hyaluronic acid.  The product contains lash strengthening complex that's rich in flavonoids and olive wood extracts.  It does not contain parabens, sulfactes, synthetic frangrances or phthalates. HydroSenn+ is a plan derived ingredient that leaves the skin feeling."

My Thoughts:
With all the above advertisement being said, here's what I think....they are very convenient, not messy, easy to travel with and do work for removing eye makeup, however, I feel they are a bit expensive given that there are so many other competing products on the market.  I found it very difficult to remove my eye make up with just one pad.  So, you are talking a 15 day supply (2/day) for $9 which is 30 cents a piece times 2 pieces, so .60 per day.  I don't know, this is a hard one for me to swallow when there are so many other products on the market that serve the same purpose and are quite a bit less expensive.

Mac 6 Cool Smokey Eye Palette - Purple and Pink Smokey Eye

This is one of my favorite tutorials to date. I love purple smokey eyes and I really love how wearable this purple smokey eye turned out. I am beginning to think the Mac 6 Cool Smokey Eye Palette is a must have item! It's so compact and has such great colors that it's quickly becoming one of my favorites! I decided to re-create the Kim Kardashian smokey eye tutorial with more fun colors and less "cat-eye-like" shape. The result is very pretty, in my opinion. I hope you all enjoy!

Sephora's The Joys of Fragrance Inspired Makeup with Lime Green Eyes

For this look I was really inspired by Sephora's The Joys of Fragrance Catalog. There was a model in the advertisement that featured glowing skin, bold blue eyeshadow and pink lips. When I saw the advertisement I thought to myself, "Wow. I want to do that makeup look, but with green eyeshadow!" Thus, I re-created the model's look using lime green eyeshadows. I didn't blend the lime green up as far onto the brow bone as the model in the advertisement because I wanted to make the look more wearable. Here is the result. I have attached a photo of the model as well as Sephora's The Joys of Fragrance Catalog for you to view. Sorry for the blurry photo of the model. You can check out the catalog below for a better photo! Enjoy!

P.S. I really love the new Boyfriend perfume featured in this catalog. It smells amazing! I also recently purchased Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita perfume after smelling my way through this catalog! It is so invigorating! Yay for good marketing from Sephora! :)

Face of the Day - Soft Neutrals with Mac Pigments

I have been requests for more neutral looks. This is a neural look using Mac Pigments. I wanted to make the skin look soft and glowing, but still natural. I decided against using a highlight because I thought it would make the skin look too shiny. Instead I really played up my skin with Nars Sheer Glow and then I applied a soft cheek color with a natural lips to compliment my brown neutral eye. I think the complete look is very soft, neutral and would compliment a wide variety of skin tones. I highly recommend Mac Naked Pigment if you do not already own it. It's amazing! You will put it on your eyes and say..."WOW, why haven't I owned this yet?" Yeah, it's that amazing! Enjoy!

Bright and Warm Wearable Makeup

Ok, so the packages I was suppose to get in on Thursday never came in so the product of the week for this week has been delayed thanks to Mother Nature and a Blizzard! Ahhhh! As a result, this week is going to be a free for all! I am going to be doing some requested looks for you all, as well as, some looks that just make me feel nice and pretty until my packages arrive!

So the first look is this beachy-summer/spring look inspired by the warmth in my body that is begging to get out! (I cannot wait for summer!) I hope you all enjoy!

Edgy Taupe with Peach Lips

I wanted to show another way to use the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette. I decided to use the "Rare Taupe" color to create an edgy look with some nice peach lips. I really like the result. This look is very simple and pretty similar in technique and skill level to the College Student Inspired Tutorial I did recently. What can I say? I am loving Mac Feline Eye Kohl! :)

Modern Day Pin Up Look #2

This is just another modern day pin up look. I was in the mood for a deep red lip. I wanted this look to have hints of the classic pin up look, such as the bold lip, neutral eye and flicked out eyeliner, but I wanted to modernize it with glowing skin, a shimmery eye and a deeper red lip. I hope you all enjoy!

Nail of the Day - Sephora by OPI's Already Famous

I wanted to change up my nail polish since I have been wearing a lot of bright colors this week. I decided to try Sephora by OPI's Already Famous. I applied two coats with Nail Envy as a base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat. I thought the color would be a little darker on application, but I am surprised how much I love the color on my nails. It's extremely flattering and chic.

Overview and Swatches - Sephora's Hello Kitty Collection Part II

This is Part II of the Sephora's Hello Kitty Collection. To view Part I, click here.

As you can see, I had ordered Hello Kitty Apple Cheeks in Blushing and Pink Grapefruit. I also ordered, Minty and Bubble Gum Polishes. The Apple Cheeks in Blushing is much more coral and lighter in shade and tone than the Apple Cheeks in Charmmy. Charmmy is much more brown based and a deeper, more rich shade than Blushing. Pink Grapefruit Sweet Gloss is more pinky and light than Peachy Sweet Gloss. Both sweet glosses apply rather sheer, which is a little disappointing, because I'd hoped there would be a noticeable difference between the two on the lips. Both shades are very wearable and moisturizing and neither is sticky.

The nail polishes applied very differently. I had some trouble getting Minty to apply opaque. Unlike it's sister polish, Blueberry which applied opaque with just one coat, Minty required three coats to apply evenly and opaquely on the nails. I was kind of disappointed how streaky it initially applied. I also was disappointed with my application of the products, so please excuse the sloppiness.

Bubble Gum applied more opaque than Minty and Banana Cream. It was the second most opaque, with Blueberry as the most opaque of all the nail polishes. Bubble Gum is quite a light pink, more like chewed bubble gum than fresh bubble gum. Ewww. hahaha.

I used OPI's nail envy as a base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat. Enjoy!
