M.A.C. Surf Baby - Summer Collection Preview

M.A.C. Surf Baby - Summer Collection
Launches May 26, 2001 in US and June 2011 International!!!

Keep in mind, these are pre-launch pictures and with any pre-launch pictures, the pictures or products could change when MAC actually launches the products, however, I am very interested to see how the "pearl" that they are advertising is in many of these shades will play out on the actual skin.  If it's as I'm envisioning, it could be really gorgeous!  This is the thing that is most intriguing to me about this collection.  I am also eager to get my hands on the Ocean Dip-Aqua Teal nail polish and the Surf the Ocean Metallic Pigment Stack looks really fun as well.  Let me know what yo think.

Sigma New Makeup Line - Sneak Peek!

A little birdy on Twitter aka - Simone Sigma the founder of Sigma has reported that Sigma will be launching a new makeup line in 6-8 weeks. The new line includes three different palettes: Flare, Dare, and Bare. Each palette also includes it's own dual ended brush!
    • Flare includes a bright range of colors for those who are not afraid of color. Flare comes with the Sigma E55 and E40.
    • Dare reminds me of a dessert themed palette with colors that range from tans, to golds, to deep copper reds. Dare comes with the Sigma E20 and E45.
    • Bare is a soft neutral palette that ranges in colors from traditional neutrals to deep sparkly black shades!  Bare comes with the Sigma E30 and E25!
The cost of each palette will be $35 which is a steal since each dual ended brush usually retails for $18 alone! I'm really excited about this announcement and I just had to share. Enjoy!

Nail of the Day - Zoya Danni

It's weird how the lighting can so greatly effect the color of a nail polish. I will show you with an example below. I always try to provide my readers with a photos of the lacquer with the flash and without. I always take my photos in front of photo lighting, but sometimes the color variation can range a great deal based on when I use the flash. I painted my nails today with Zoya's Danni from the Zoya Spring 2011 Collection. This is a beautiful muted magenta pink with a slight gold shimmer. I was not too impressed with the look of this polish in the bottle, but on the fingers it's really gorgeous. It's hard to tell in the photos due to the flash, but the lacquer has the most gorgeous antique gold shimmer shot through the magenta polish for a glowing and elegant look on the fingers. I find this polish extremely unique even if it looks just eh in the bottle!

I applied Seche Base as a base coat, two coats of Zoya Dannie and Seche Vite as a top coat. Now check out the strange variation in color of lacquer based on whether I used the flash on my camera or not. (The photos taken with the flash are the most accurate depiction of the actual nail lacquer.)

Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation - Look Out Mineral Powders!!!

Chanel's Vitalumiere's Aqua Foundation is Simply Fabulous!!!

I am not a liquid foundation fan, but Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua has be considering other options.  It is very light weight, oil free.  I have found that a little goes a long way and the color match for me is phenomenal  - one of the best if not the best I've seen!  I've been wearing this foundation for a week now and so I've had a full week or work make up as well as, outdoor activity and the foundation wears well throughout the day.  I have noticed a slight settling or drying out throughout the day.  It's not a show stopper by any means and it could be due to the fact that I have very dry skin and it is oil free.

AND...the foundation does not transfer onto paperwork via fingertips as has happened to me on more than one occasion with other liquid foundations.  Don't know about you, but I find this really embarrassing...let's face it, we all want to be beautiful but want everyone to think it's natural :)

I would consider this foundation for my standard foundation which is screaming volumes, because, again, I am not a liquid foundation fan at all.  I have tried them all and I always seem to go back to mineral powders, but I could see myself wearing Vitalumiere.

Vitalumiere Aqua comes in two undertones:  pink and yellow.  The yellow is yellow beige tones and the pink is pink-beige tones.  The foundation comes in 9 foundation tones total (see below).  I was very surprised and disappointed that Chanel did not make tones for those with darker skin tones.  They seem to have fallen short here.

I especially like the light weight, plastic bottle it comes in.  It has a dropper top which has to be much more conducive to fighting potential bacteria that could occur with the more traditional bottles.  Chanel recommends shaking the product before using as one would any liquid foundation.

I also like the fact that the foundation is oil free and has SPF15.

Spring/Summer Makeup Tutorial and How to Conceal Under Eye Circles

This is a tutorial for those who live in warmer climates who are not experiencing 9 months of winter. Unfortunately, I live in a city where it could snow any day of the week all the way up until mid-May. Therefore, I am stuck in my winter coat and scarf but dreaming of my bathing suit and sun dresses. However, back in Texas where I am from originally - it's nice and warm and many of you are ready for some more summer looks. I created this look to help transition everyone from bitter cold to poolside parties! :) Enjoy!
