Nail of the Day - Deborah Lippmann's I Know What Boys Like

We all know I love my blues! When shopping with my really good friend, Meghan this weekend we stopped by Nordstrom and had to check out the Deborah Lippmann and Butter London displays. Of course, I couldn't help myself but get my hands on Deborah Lippmann's I Know What Boys Like. It was literally love at first swatch. :) This lacquer is super opaque, applies evenly and with a lot of shine and reminds me why I love Deborah Lippmann soooooo much. At first, I thought that I only liked Deborah Lippmann's glitter polishes, but after trying this "blue jean" cream I am convinced that I love all her lacquers! I call this lacquer "blue jean" because it reminds me of the color of my favorite pairs of jeans - deep, not quite navy, but not quite royal! This lacquer reminds me a lot of American Apparel's Mount Royal, which is super close in color and more than half the price! So, if you are in love with this lacquer, I recommend swatching American Apparel's Mount Royal first - you might just save yourself a few George Washingtons!

I applied Seche Base as a base coat, two coats of Deborah Lippmann I Know What Boys Like and Seche Vite as a top coat. Enjoy!

Nail of the Day - Deborah Lippmann's Razzle Dazzle

While at Nordstrom last weekend, I picked up Deborah Lippmann's Razzle Dazzle. Although cranberry nails are typically unspectacular in the nail world, I found Deborah Lippmann's Razzle Dazzle to be a refreshed version of the fading fad. I love how opaque this polish applies, however it does require a good two coats before it really shines. I applied OPI's Nail Envy as a base coat, two coats of Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle and Seche Vite as a topcoat. What are your thoughts? Does this nail polish refresh the old cranberry nail? I like it a lot. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Nail of the Day - Deborah Lippmann's Superstar

The minute my exam was over I headed to Nordstrom for some retail rehabilitation! It just happened to be the same day as the Spring Fashion Event at Nordstrom and my Nordstroms was buzzing with customers all in line to get their makeup and nails neatly manicured! I was lucky enough to steal the attention of a nice sales person for Deborah Lippmann who showed me tons of amazing colors from her collection. However, almost every single polish I picked out for my nails was sold out! Finally, after lots of searching the salesman gave me Deborah Lippmann's Superstar for free!!!! He said he felt so bad that every polish I chose was sold out. He told me if I purchased one of other lacquer, he'd give me Deborah Lippmann's Superstar (the only one left in the store and the tester!) for free! At first I was like...the tester? But then he explained, "oh, I just opened this one this morning and I am the only one who has used it all day - I've probably swatched it four times today. I realized he was basically giving me a FREE brand new polish! I decided, free was better than paying for it! I jumped on it and purchased Deborah Lippman's Razzle Dazzle and received Superstar for free!!!!

By the way, I am so in love with Deborah Lippmann's nail lacquers. They are soooooooooooo beautiful. This one nearly took my breath away when I got it home and painted my nails! It's so unique and like no other polish on the market. I am definitely in heaven! To apply this lovely lacquer, I put down OPI's Nail Envy and then one coat of Deborah Lippmann's Superstar. Yes, it only took ONE coat!!! Ahhhh. Finally, I applied Seche Vite as a topcoat. Pretty spectacular, huh? I feel like a SUPERSTAR! :)

Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road Nail Polish - Lady GAGA Wore it Best!

We may not all be able to show up at our events in an egg, BUT we can show up in style!!! Deborah Lippmann, celebrity manicurist, will be releasing the Yellow Brick Road nail polish that Lady Gaga sported during the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road will launch April 15th and will be available for $16 at www.deborahlippmann.com. (Maybe Nordstrom too!)

Of course, I'm loving the bright yellow (it's a gel finish) - I can't wait for it to get warmer out so that I can rock this look...wouldn't this make a statement with a solid black dress!! I can't say I'd embrace the whole "egg" thing, but I definitely would love to make my nail polish my statement piece!

Nail of the Day - Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance

When I bought Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe (my holy grail nail polish), I also was sure to pick up another gorgeous Deborah Lippmann polish called Bad Romance. Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance is a collaboration between Deborah Lippmann and Lady Gaga. The polish itself applies very similarly to Across the Universe, however instead of having blue and green glitter in a black base, Bad Romance includes purple and magenta glitter in a black base! It's absolutely stunning on the nails and I had numerous people ask me what I was wearing on my nails when I applied it. To apply, I used OPI Original Nail Envy as a base coat, two coats of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance and Seche Vite as a top coat. Doesn't it just look like something Lady Gaga would be wearing sans the meat dress and hat. :)

Nail of the DaY - Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe

This color has completely and totally captivated my heart. It's a deep black/blue base with blue and green glitter shot through the nail polish. It really does make a nail polish enthusiast think of its exact name upon application - across the universe. Ahhh, how lovely. When I first say this color in the bottle while at Nordstrom I was completely in shock. What a unique color! This is my first Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish and I must say...I think it's gorgeous. It's by far my favorite color in my collection. I know the $18.00 price tag is hard to swallow, but oh man, I'd trade in two of my OPI's and one cheapy nail polish for this beautiful polish any day of the week. I'm in love.

I am not going to lie, I couldn't buy just one color when looking at the display, I also managed to get my hands on Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance, which is also a glitter polish. It's a deep black base with a magenta-purple glitter shot through the polish. Just lovely as well. However, Bad Romance doesn't even come close to making me swoon like Across the Universe. This is my new holy grail polish.

I applied OPI's Nail Envy as a base coat and only TWO coats of Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe to achieve this stunning result. (This is really unusual for glitter polishes, people!) Finally, I applied Seche Vite as a topcoat. Am I the only one hearing the words to Stevie Wonder's Isn't She Lovely right now? hahahaha. Ghaw, forget Valentines Day, all I need is this nail polish. hahaha.
