Face of the Day - Muted Colorful Eyes with Bright Lips

I wanted to do a look incorporating muted turquoise greens, grays and purples, however I didn't want the look to look clownish. I decided on this look because I thought the lips would bring some brightness while the eyes remained subtle and muted enough to be wearable. The trick to keeping your eyes simple is to use brown eyeliner instead of black eyeliner. It really helps to keep the eyes soft wand pretty. I hope you all enjoy!

Face of the Day - Simple Wearable Blue Smokey Eye

Spring Face of the Day with TheBalm Palette

This is a face of the day inspired by Spring and The Balm Shady Lady Palette Volume 3. I wanted to use purple, but I didn't want to do "another purple tutorial", so I decided to make this look a face of the day. I want to let you all know that this weekend and the next week I will be pretty busy with school. I have a pretty big exam coming up and class on Saturday and Sunday (yes, I said SUNDAY!), so my video creation process is significantly hampered during this period. I will continue to do face of the days, but I won't be able to have as many videos for you all. I will get back to normal speed with videos with the Mac Jeanius Collection (March 3rd). Bright Teal Eyes with Super Nude Lips Using TheBalm Shady Lady Vol 3. & Mac Viva Glam Gaga 2

The first of TheBalm Shady Lady Volume 3 looks had to be anything but traditional. I initially filmed the entire Overview and first tutorial with a classic smokey eye for a more everyday approach to this palette. But upon reviewing the overview video I decided it would be a lot more exciting and fun if my makeup was out there and fun for the first tutorial. I decided to scratch the first overview video and re-film the overview with a bright and bold makeup look. I decided to use teal and purple, because I think teal and purple compliment each other well. I decided to whip out my brand new Mac Viva Glam Gaga 2 for a "make it work" moment. I think the look is actually really pretty and goes nicely with the bright eyes. I hope you all enjoy!

Product of the Week: The Balm Shady Lady Volume 3 Overview with Swatches

The featured product for this week is The Balm's Shady Lady Volume 3. This palette includes a wide variety of shadows that are creamy, easy to apply and absolutely gorgeous on the skin. I said it in the video and I'll say it again, if you're going to buy any palette this seasons, I'd suggest this one. The Balm Shady Lady Volume 3 is $39.50 and available at Sephora and Sephora.com. All the colors are shimmer shades, but that doesn't limit the versatility of this palette. The Balm really got it right with this palette. It includes bright fun shades like Open to Offers Olwen (a bright teal-green) and more neutral shades like Come-Hither Heather (smokey taupe). Thus, this palette appeals to both those who love color and those looking for a palette with some maturity and wear-ability. When I sat down to do the first tutorial from this palette I was so overwhelmed with the color choices. I like the feeling of having an unlimited amount of color and creativity at my finger tips. This palette really offers a lot of bang for it's buck and is one of the best made palettes I have seen in a long time. It has impressed me from the moment I swatched it.

Balmbini Shot Me in The Heart!!!

The eyeshadows and blush in the Balmbini palette are top notch! The cool pink and coral orange blushes suit any skin tone without looking chalky. The eyeshadow trio ranges from work appropriate to dance floor appropriate. However, the two lip color are nothing to write home about. The Special Edition lip gloss looks peachy but goes on clear. The Read My Lips lipstick goes on magenta despite looking red in the packaging and applies like a lip gloss. Both the lip products are moisturizing, not sticky and leave your lips feeling soft. This palette is super portable, super slim and great for on the go. It also includes a mirror for checking yourself out! The eyeshadows include: a shimmery beige called Mary-Lou Manizer, a Taupe/Brown work appropriate color called shadyLady and a dance floor appropriate deep turquoise also called shadyLady. The blushes include: a pink, matte blush called Downboy and a shimmery coral/orange blush called Hot Mama.

Smokey Brown with Coral Lips

Who said smokey eyes only went with nude lips? I think nude lips are kind of going out of style. I decided to put a twist on the smokey eye with a bright coral lip and some orange cheeks.
