I have class this morning, but I wanted to do a quick Face of the Day for you all. This is my version of a wearable simple smokey blue eye that is perfect for daytime. I used only three shadows to create this look and minimal effort. I hope you all enjoy!
The point of this look was to use palettes already in my collection or yours with the Mac Wonder Woman Valiant Palette to create a really nice pretty look. I used the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette and the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette in combination with the Mac Valiant Palette to create this look. Feel free to substitute your own colors in place of the colors I used. I hope this is helpful!
Enjoy!

This is an intense gold and purple eye look with a really nice ruby lip. I was really inspired by the cat eye look lately and I wanted to capitalize on that inspiration. I wanted this look to be really gold, but also include some intense deepness. I also wanted to compliment the bold eye with a more bold wearable lip. I decided on Laura Mercier's Ruby Glaze lip plumper. Since I didn't get a chance to use it with the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette, I decided to use it in this tutorial. Enjoy!

I am usually not a big fan of Valentines Day and it's not because of the traditional reasons. I am not a huge fan because I always over-indulge in Dove's chocolate shaped hearts and Conversation Hearts! They are just so yummy and really only available around this time of year! hahaha. On the plus side, for some Valentines Day is extremely romantic. Every Valentines Day I have ever had has never really lived up to the hype - so sorry, boyfriends, I have to admit...your attempt at romantic fell short when you didn't save me from a sinking ship like Leonard DiCaprio in Titanic. Gosh, movies ruin everything! hahaha.
Anyway, this look was inspired by Valentines Day and the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette which is sold at Sephora and Ulta and retails for $35.00. I love this palette. It makes my heart swell and makes me wonder what romantic events are in store for me this Valentines Day...will I finally get saved from a sinking ship? I hope not. It's cold where I live and I can only imagine how frigid the water is. Unlike Kate Winslet, I can't promise I won't let go...I'm far from a member of the Polar Bear Club. :-/

I have been using this product all week and wanted to give you all my FINAL assessment.
This palette is my FAVORITE palette I have ever purchased! It simply radiates QUALITY!!!
The above statement speaks volumes because I own A LOT of palettes!!!
The quality of the colors, both cheek colors and eyeshadows are impeccable. They all have great pigmentation, apply with ease and blend very nicely. The blushes have the perfect amount of shimmer. Some of the palettes I've purchased in the past are overloaded with shimmer, but this one is perfect.
Product Details:
Palette comes with 2 cheek colors and 4 eye shadows.
The cheek colors names are: Palace Pink (a shimmery light pink highlight with a hint of gold) and Persian Rose (a pink-coral with a golden sheen)
The eye shadow names are: Regal Violet (deep royal purple with purple sparkle), Golden Sands (a sandy-peach with a hint of gold sparkle), Rare Taupe (a grey-ish taupe with a gorgeous taupe shimmer) and Lavender Silk (a pale violet with a satin-shimmer finish)

Cost: $48.00
Cheek Colors: (far left): Palace Pink, (far right): Persian Rose Eye shadows: Top Left, Regal Violet, Top Right, Rare Taupe Bottom Left, Golden Sand, Bottom Right, Lavender Silk
I wanted to show another way to use the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette. I decided to use the "Rare Taupe" color to create an edgy look with some nice peach lips. I really like the result. This look is very simple and pretty similar in technique and skill level to the College Student Inspired Tutorial I did recently. What can I say? I am loving Mac Feline Eye Kohl! :)

So, I have been using this very strange work around because I lost my camera charger. Until the new charger arrives, you may see a lot of photos of me at the same angle. I am sorry for this. I have resorted to recording myself on my HD camera then taking screen captures of the video to provide you with the best quality photos.
This is a face of the day using Laura Mercier's Silk Road Palette and the light purple (Lavender Silk) I was so worried about. I wasn't sure how this look would turn out, so I didn't record a full tutorial. However, if you want to see a full tutorial, please let me know. I hope you all enjoy!

I finally was able to get my hands on the Laura Mercier Silk Road Palette for Spring 2011 and oh, boy, I am sooooooo impressed! I have never used Laura Mercier's eyeshadows or blushes and I was totally blown out of the water when I finally applied them to my eyes! I had to do a few tutorials with the palette I purchased! I hope you all enjoy!!!
These are the overview swatches and product photos of the Laura Mercier Silk Road Cheek and Eye Palette for Spring 2011. The colors are beautiful and they swatch so vibrantly and vividly on the skin. All the eyeshadows included in the palette are shimmery or include glitter, so this palette is not for the matte eyeshadow lover. However, I find all these shades extremely versatile and I can imagine they would work well on mature or youthful skin. I think this palette would also work well for a wide range of skin tones because of the versatility of the colors. I love that Laura Mercier has introduced a fresh sparkly purple in the palette, as well as included a wearable and universal taupe eyeshadow.
The two larger shades are a blush and highlighting powder. The blush is a vibrant coral pink with a slight gold shimmer, while the highlight is a light pink with gold shimmer. I find Palace Pink, the highlight, to be similar in texture to Nars Albatross, however it's pink shade, allows it to work quite well on those with more beige and pink undertones in their skin. I think it's a truly versatile highlighting powder, however for those with truly dark complexions, I would worry it could come off a little ashy. I also give warning to the extremely fair complected individuals embarking on Persian Rose, the blush included in the palette. Persian Rose although a beautiful pinky coral, needs to be applied with a light hand due to its heavy pigmentation and the bright shade.
When I first opened this palette I was most worried about the light purple shade called Lavender Silk, however I find that it wears quite well on my skin and adds a soft shimmery glow to light-medium complected individuals with peachy-yellow undertones. The entire palette retails for $48.00.
I also purchased one of the lip pluming glosses which sadly cost around $30.00. Although I love the shade, which is a pinky coral with gold shimmer struck through it, I dislike the price a lot. I find it hard to swallow that a lip gloss could cost $30.00. Despite the shocking price tag, I purchased the lip gloss, which is of really high quality. The consistency is not sticky and is quite moisturizing. Additionally, the gloss is meant to plump the lips, so it has a hint of mint mixed in its citrus-orange smell. I like the gloss especially because it does not require a lipstick underneath, but I wish it would have been more around $20 bucks versus $30.
